Roest Hopper 200g 3D Printable Model
A community-designed 3D printable Roest Hopper 200g model was shared by sorinl. The model is hosted on Printables at https://www.printables.com/model/572877-roest-hopper-200g . source
Development Status
The designer described the model as still being developed and needing testing, so treat it as an in-progress community accessory rather than a fully validated design. source
Recommended Print Material
sorinl recommended printing the model with PET-G. source
Community Testing
A community member volunteered to print/test the model, saying they had time, material, and an available printer. This indicates the model was seeking practical testing feedback at the time of the conversation. source
Later File Updates and Fit Notes
sorinl later said the file had been updated because the previous version was too big. A user who had started printing stopped and switched to the updated file, noting they were not far into the print yet. source
sorinl noted that the trier is not quite parallel and that dimensions can vary. If the printed part feels too thin, sorinl suggested using an XY negative compensation of -0.2 mm in the slicer. source
A later discussion mentioned reducing the hopper height: denis6004 considered cutting 5 mm from the top because it seemed too big, and sorinl subsequently said it had been cut down and was now smaller, described as 25 mm. denis6004 also noted that cuts can be made directly in PrusaSlicer, mentioning a -10 mm cut as an option. source
sorinl also mentioned additional updates, including a bottom version that was higher but not tested. Treat those variants as experimental unless further validation is available. source
Design Reference
sorinl described the design as a “Roest 3000 homage,” suggesting the visual inspiration came from the larger Roest P3000 style. source
Printing Material Notes
In the same discussion, denis6004 reported having significant PETG retraction problems before attempting the print. This is not a validated setting recommendation, but it is a useful caution that PETG tuning may matter for this model. source
Alternative Metal Larger Hopper Option
tpanda5472 also recommended a separate linked item as a good larger hopper option. They reported that it fits well inside the original small hopper, has plenty of size, and still allows the bean latch to open without issue. Unlike the community 3D-printable model, this linked option was described as not being a 3D print; it is metal, easily available, and was said to avoid heat-tolerance concerns. source
